About Us
Mission Statement
"For the world to communicate better. That we can all come closer together."

History
LangInternational was founded by language professor, Dr Philip Bardsley, in
1983.
Born in New Zealand, Dr. Bardsley obtained a Master of Arts degree with first
class honors in English from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand, in
1966. He obtained his Ph.D in Applied Linguistics from Laval University (a
French-Language University) in Quebec City, Canada in 1972.
He has worked in many parts of the world, including New Zealand, Canada,
Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United States. After completing his
PhD, he taught in several countries before deciding to start up a language
centre in Singapore.
Dr. Bardsley is a frequent speaker at conferences and workshops for language
teachers, and visits some 12 countries every year. He is also a long term
consultant to the Ministry of Education of Singapore.
He has written over 60 articles and 20 books. Many of his books and articles
are classics in the field of second language teaching and have been translated
into many different languages, including Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and
Arabic. They seek to provide readable overviews and explorations of research,
theory, and current practice in key areas of applied linguistics and language
teaching. His widely used classroom texts are noted for their applications of
communicative methodology and their teacher-friendly and student-friendly
design.
Dr. Bardsley teaches several of the language courses himself.
LangInternational is highly recognized in Singapore because we bring in
teachers who speak the language natively. We do this so that students can learn
the language from the people who speak it the best.
The New Building
This Language International campus has just been newly reopened after a
6-month renovation on the 22 year-old building. It is now fully air-conditioned,
classrooms as well as lecture halls. What we didn't have previously was a
computer lab, now we have a computer lab that seats 40 persons. In the lab, we
have links to the best language websites around to help in your learning.
Another new room is the video room, where students can watch videos of the
spoken language. It is a library of language videos that students can access to
enhance their learning.

We have added a brand new lobby, and a nice reception area. A sitting room has
been added, providing an area for students to relax while waiting for their
classes to start.

Language International hopes that with the newly renovated campus, we can
improve your learning environment, making it a more pleasant experience.
